Horse Trekking at the Khentii National Park Mongolia
If you have horse riding experience, and are looking for an unique adventure in pristine nature, then we can highly recommend this horse trekking in northern Mongolia.
You ride every day between three and five hours, and experience different landscapes. From the steppe you travel through rolling hills into the tundra near the border with Siberia. You sleep in tents, and ride together with your Mongolian trekking crew through varied landscapes in the wild north of Mongolia.

Day 1 : Arrival UB (Ulan Bataar). Optional sightseeing according to your interests. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2 : Sightseeing UB according to your interests. Visit for example a Buddhist ceremony at the Gandan convent school, the main training center for Tibetan Buddhism in Mongolia. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 : Transfer to the northeast into the Khan Khentii National Park. Overnight at the summer place of a nomad family on the shore of the Kherlen river, the longest river in Mongolia. Get here an insight into the everyday life of the nomads. Overnight in tent (no tourist camp).
Day 4 : Experience today a day in the life of the nomad family. Get to know your steed, and take first rides on the small Mongolian horse. The horses are small in size, but very robust and tough, and it is a real pleasure to travel long distances with them. Experience how the sheep and goat herds return, and try to do the milking on request. Overnight in tent (no tourist camp).
Day 5 - 9 : Horse trekking in the Khan Khentii National Park. A wonderful experience for all nature and horse lovers. This area is wild and yet untouched. Overnight in tent.
Day 10 : Today in the afternoon you ride back to the nomad family, and enjoy in the evening a farewell party in the company of the family of nomads around a campfire. Overnight in tent (no tourist camp).
Day 11 : Drive back to Ulaan Baatar. Visit in the evening a concert at the Opera and Theatre House, and listen to Mongolian overtone songs. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 : Continue with further travel modules such as Gobi Desert, Karakorum - or return flight.
