Introduction

Away from the beaten track, you will discover with us the touristically little known Himalayan region south of Sikkim. A unique and fantastic panoramic view awaits you on the entire imposing Mt. Kanchenjunga mountain range. After an exciting city tour in the lively town of Kalimpong, you will visit on the way, surrounded by a vast pine forest, one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the region. Soon after, you enter the rural world of Himalayan tribal communities and mountain farmers. You will get fascinating insights into the simple life in the countryside. Buddhism, Hinduism, shamanism and Christianity exist side by side.

Indulge in the quiet, rural rhythm, take optional walks along fields and small yards, immerse yourself in the simple and original lifestyle of the Himalayan mountain farmers and enjoy cultural and culinary highlights. The lovingly and nicely decorated bungalows and the lodge, which is privately run with a lot of dedication offer you an oasis of relaxation and tranquility. Let yourself be pampered by delicious, freshly prepared meals and feel cared for by the cordial hospitality in this place.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival from Bagdogra Airport or from Travel Module "Sikkim", "Darjeeling", "Bhutan", "Northeast India", "Delhi" or "Kolkata".

Day 2 - 3 : Discover the rural Kalimpong and the world of Himalayan mountain farmers in this remote region. Overnight in bungalow.

Day 4 : Continue to Lava monastery and to Kalimpong city with city strolls. Overnight stay in the private guesthouse.

Day 5 : Transfer to Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal or continue with Travel Module "Sikkim", "Darjeeling", "Northeast India", "Bhutan", "Delhi" or "Kolkata

Best Travel Period

March to June and October to December; also January and February are suitable because in this region prevail milder temperatures.
