Embark on a cultural and adventurous journey through the stunning landscapes of Himachal Pradesh. Explore picturesque valleys, Buddhist monasteries, and breathtaking mountain landscapes, while traveling off the beaten path. From the orchards of Thanedar to the barren beauty of Spiti, and the lush green Sojha Valley, you’ll experience a blend of Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist cultures.
This adventure takes you through diverse landscapes, from lush valleys to rugged mountain scenery, crossing streams and valleys. In Spiti, witness a harsh yet mesmerizing landscape, contrasting the fertile valleys, jagged peaks, and ancient Tibetan Buddhist heritage. Visit remote monasteries, villages, and cross the Kunzum and Rhotan passes, offering panoramic views of the Himalayas at altitudes up to ~15,300 ft (4,650 m). The journey culminates in the Kullu Valley near Manali, before crossing the Jalori Pass and returning via Chandigarh or train to Delhi.

Welcome to Delhi! Upon arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Take a train journey to Chandigarh, then enjoy a scenic drive to Shimla through the Himalayan foothills. Explore Shimla's Mall Road and Ridge, and if the weather is clear, watch the stunning sunset from Jakhu. Visit the Maria Brothers’ History Museum for rare books, maps, and prints.

Drive through Shimla and Narkanda to reach Thanedar, known for its apple orchards. Enjoy the serene surroundings, surrounded by dense pine forests in Hassan Valley.
Drive : 80 km, 2.5 – 3 hrs
Overnight in Lodge.
Explore Thanedar’s pristine surroundings, visit ancient temples, and enjoy nature walks through apple orchards. Optionally, take a trek to Hatu Peak for panoramic views. In autumn, experience apple picking or indulge in a local dessert made with fresh apples.

Enjoy a scenic drive through dense forests and narrow gorges along the Sutlej River to reach Sangla in the Baspa Valley, known for its views of Kinner Kailash.

Explore the picturesque Sangla Valley, known for its traditional Himachali architecture, religious fusion of Hinduism and Buddhism, and the intricate craftsmanship of Kinnauri shawls. Take hikes through lush pine forests and visit Chitkul, the last Indian settlement before Tibet.

Enter the remote Spiti Valley, passing through rugged terrain and rivers. Visit the 500-year-old mummy of a Buddhist monk in Giu, and continue to Tabo, where you can sip butter tea at Nako and visit the Tabo Monastery, known for its exquisite murals.

Visit Tabo Monastery, then head to the Dhankar Monastery, located impossibly on a cliffside. Optionally, hike to Dhankar Lake for stunning views of the Spiti Valley, then travel to Lhalung for a homestay.

The monsoon season begins in late June. During July and August, heavy rains can cause erosion and landslides south of Spiti and Kinnaur.

Please note that the road conditions from Kinnaur to Spiti and from Spiti to Manali can sometimes be precarious, so travelers should be prepared for challenging terrain.
