Ladakh, one of the highest inhabited regions on Earth, is nestled in the northernmost province of India, surrounded by the mighty Himalayan mountain ranges. At an average altitude of 3500 meters, this remote region is home to a unique Buddhist-influenced culture, thriving in sparsely populated valleys. Ladakh’s picturesque villages, surrounded by green fields, emerge like oases in the barren, spectacular mountain desert. Hilltop monasteries, contrasting sky-blue lakes, white peaks, vast plains, and high mountain passes create a striking landscape.
Among the most dramatic landscapes in the Indian subcontinent (second only to Spiti), Ladakh boasts a deep Tibetan cultural heritage, preserved through well-maintained monasteries still in use today. The Ladakhi people’s close connection with nature, influenced by Tibetan Buddhism, is reflected in their way of life. Ladakh's captivating mountain scenery and diverse birdlife are best explored through trekking.
The ascent of Mount Stok Kangri—while technically not very demanding—requires excellent physical condition and alpine experience due to the high altitude. Reaching the summit will be a symbolic and exhilarating highlight of your journey.

June to September
While Ladakh can be visited year-round, this trekking module is best suited for the warmer, mostly dry summer season from June to September. Snowfall typically begins at the end of September, which makes many mountain passes impassable during the winter months
